I have been cleaning out my eZine list over the last
couple
of weeks, and before I go on, This is not directed at any
of
you. I appreciate the time you take to read my eZine.
This
is directed solely at the wasters of the internet. The
people that don't even bother to empty their spamming e
mail boxes. So will never even see this.
well here goes.
Out of a subscriber base of about 2800 we had 142 dead or
closed accounts, Now I do know in some cases the mail
provider has disappeared. but in a lot of cases they were
closed due to spamming or just closed by the subscriber.
I still have about 150 addresses to delete due to
continual
" Full Mail Box " and it is these people that
really wait
for it annoy me. ( good got passed that bit with out
saying
****** off ).
I mean I do take the trouble to send this out 3 times a
week, even if they or you think it's good or bad. the
only
way we can improve is by your feed back and comments.
You thankfully take the time and trouble to read it, for
which I am very grateful.
But those that have subscribed with false e mails, and
NEVER
intend to read it, just so they can grab a few FREE Ads,
(
which with us they get anyway ) Well to my mind they are
worse than spammers. The lowest of the internet low. And
I
will be glad when I have finally deleted them from my
subscriber base.
How can anyone trust these people? They lie from the
start,
just like spammers. And they usually want you to spend
big
bucks with them as well.
Here is what I do with Spam. First of all I do eat it for
breakfast. I mean I do read it. BUT if I like the product
I
bypass the spammers referral code and go straight to the
main site, to have a proper look at what they have to
offer.
In some cases I do buy the product. But guess what the
spammer gets nothing. However if the spammer does include
their proper name and details and the address isn't

Yes I do go through
their code. as long as they don't say. " We are on
the same
list ". " Hi we communicated before ". You
know the usual
stuff.
I want to believe the person and I can't if they lie. I
try
and run a professional service not only this eZine but on
all the other sites I own, and I do expect a bit of
courtesy
back and these people have no respect at all. They can't
even be bothered to click on the unsubscribe link at the
bottom of every ezine.
It may not be what I want but I have much more respect
for
the person that bothers to unsubscribe. We even thank
them
for their previous interest.

Sam (that's my 12 year old Border Collie) and I were
walking again through the Bush (Australian
countryside).
Sam as usual was ranging out from me checking for the
Eucalyptus trees that needed his marketing skills.
When we reached our usual rock beside the fallen log,
Sam came racing up, his tail wagging and he had that
Border Collie grin all over his face.
That's one of the things I love about Sam, he has this
wonderful knack of making me feel as if I was the only
person in the world. The only person that he's
interested
in and when he focuses that attention on me I'd just
about
do anything for him (except chew his bones for him).
So I said to Sam, Do you like me or something?
"Like
you?" said Sam, "I think you're the greatest
thing since
sliced bread!" Why is that Sam?
"Remember Gordon,
when I first started marketing in the Australian
Bush?"
asked Sam. What of it Sam? "Well you
helped me more
that you know" replied Sam.
Ok Sam tell me about it. "I thought you'd
never ask."
retorted Sam.
Without realising it, I was about to get one of the best
lessons in my marketing life.
"When I first started marketing here in the
Australian
Bush I thought all I had to do was to SELL my products.
I thought that the harder I sell the better off I'd be.
Boy Oh Boy, was I wrong!
It wasn't until you taught me the importance of making
friends that I realised the key to successful marketing.
I took a while to realise that you were not trying to get
me to sell more. You were actually trying to help
me
understand the importance of helping others.
That was when I really got my act together and began to
become a veteran marketer. I will always remember
you
telling me that my interest in others will reflect
directly on the number of friends that I make while I
was marketing.
I suddenly realised that I'd make more friends by simply
showing more of an interest in them. Perhaps I'd
always
done this without thinking about it but now I am
conscious
of this wonderful marketing tool at all times.
I know you might think that I'm being a bit flippant
calling it a tool and I don't blame you. However,
this
TOOL has become one of the most important marketing
attributes that I think any marketer can aspire to
have.
Now when I get a new associate, I go out of my way to
impress upon them just how important this tool is.
I suppose it boils down to this, if I take an interest
in helping others, others will know that I am their
friend first and foremost. As a consequence to
being
interested in others and always trying to help them in
any way that is within my power, I've made some of the
best friends that anyone would wish for.
When I first began to market I thought that the concept
of selling to your friends was impossible. What I
didn't realise was that many of these so called friends
were not really my friends at all but just people that
I knew and I'd been rather silly trying to sell to them
in the first place.
After you showed me that being interested in and helping
others was more important than any sale, I almost stopped
selling and concentrated on showing a sincere interest
in helping others.
You wouldn't believe the number of 'true blue' friends
that
I've made. Many of them are fellow marketers like
myself.
I now never ever miss an opportunity to help my fellow
marketers. You know, the marketers that I showed
the most
interest in have become some of my very best friends.
Some of them have helped me no end and some have become
my best customers. I think it has something to do
with
TRUST!
To make a long story short, if you help enough others
to become effective marketers you'll become effective
as a marketer yourself. There is no other way to
market
successfully.
So you see when I lamp my eyes on to you I remember the
interest you showed me, I automatically respond like
a dog with six tails simply because I love and trust
you."

What I am driving at is.
Well about 5-10% of all the ads I received have faults.
Stupid, simple, easily correctable faults but faults none
the less.
These faults cost you the advertiser and me, money and
more
importantly time.
Most internet marketers will not chase a dead link, or
even
cut and paste a link into a browser, unless specifically
asked to do so.
So when you do submit your 5 lined classified ad.
Remember.
1) does it read correctly?
2) have I included my URL and or contact details?
3) Does the link work?
once you have checked all the above. send your Ad to
yourself.
4) once you have received your ad. Check the above again.
5) Then and only then submit your ad to where ever you
are
posting it.
By doing these few simple things, you can avoid the upset
of
seeing your ad published, and knowing full well "
YOU BLEW
IT " because no one is going to visit your site.
