What the Steiner Waldorf School Movement did not want you to read.
by Andy Lewis • June 14, 2013

Earlier this month, Grégoire Perra was finally acquitted in a French court after the Federation of Waldorf  Steiner Schools in France decided to sue Grégoire Perra, a former Steiner teacher, for publishing a critique of the schools and the anthroposophy movement.

The trial appears to have collapsed as the court accepted that the account was not written out of malice but as an honest examination of the Steiner School system. It also looked as if the trial had its farcical moments:

The President of the Tribunal: Mademoiselle X., what did you found of defamatory in the testimony of Grégoire Perra ?

Miss X. : Everything is a tissue of lies and vile errors against Waldorf schools!

The Chairman: Yes, but what exactly did you find defamatory in the passages?

Miss X. I do not know, I did not read, I have just been flying …

The document is important as it is perhaps the most detailed personal account of what goes on inside a Steiner School from someone who is prepared to step back, be objective and open about those experiences.

How I came to testify

From the judgment of the criminal court of Paris XVII of May 24, 2013:

On good faith:

 "Gregory PERRA demonstrates that continued after his resignation (school Perceval Chatou) to work with the anthroposophic community and put January 28, 2008 at Danièla HUCHER Council member of the Federation of Schools and WALDORF STEINER member of the Executive Committee of the Anthroposophical Society, "a small report on the issue of teacher training in WALDORF schools in France" in which he mentions in particular the "formation of a closed vase deeply pathogenic" within the faculty and offers various solutions.

 Grégoire PERRA then handed January 29th 2008 another report, to Antoine DODRIMONT and Bodo von PLATO, drafted at their request, entitled "Reflections on the draft Formation Anthroposophical Générale", in which he formula several proposals to hone the Anthroposophical training .

 He finally returned December 15, 2008 compared to a third anthroposophic instances, entitled "Letter on anthroposophic training in France" in which he sets including "defects" and "through the anthroposophic community" in order to "advance", which illustrates the fact that it has built a critical opinion at the time of the work thus produced.  Then in 2009 he published an article entitled "the idealism to Anthroposophy" in the magazine "News of the Anthroposophical Society in France" dated July-August 2009, he described himself breakpoint in his own reflection on the Anthroposophical doctrine, arguing that the doctrine now threatened his own free will.

 Although he resigned in June 2009 Anthroposophical Society, he gave thereafter a conference entitled "The anthroposophic middle animalization a life of the mind", the text of which was made available to members of the Society anthroposophic in France, particularly through the "News of the Anthroposophical Society, in June 2010, even though it evokes the idea of indoctrination of schoolchildren STEINER to anthroposophy.

 It follows from the above that, far from being the result of a "bitter hatred", the testimony written by Gregory PERRA published on the site UNADFI, is the result of a philosophical reflection on anthroposophy it itself and its modes of transmission, including within schools STEINER WALDORF

 Therefore, it is also vain as the plaintiff argues that "UNADFI" would be driven by personal animosity characterized by the fact that it reproduces the way, without any reservation, Gregory PERRA since no animosity n 'is retained against it.

 In addition, not only UNADFI granted at the request of right response made by the plaintiff, but no personal animosity is established from Catherine PICARD and Marie Drilhon against the plaintiff, they did observe that the social object assigned to UNADFI bringing to public attention for thought for supplying a democratic debate, which must be open to criticism, the interrogation and reflection.

 Finally, the "serious investigation" is not effectively challenged by the plaintiff, since the About-offending, out of context, are actually a simple testimony from a person who can give an opinion on the functioning of schools STEINER WALDORF PERRA since Gregory was first students in two schools STEINER WALDORF and teacher in these schools, a member of the Anthroposophical Society in France and finally worked not only for the Federation of Schools STEINER WALDORF but for the Anthroposophical Society to reform anthroposophic training generally and within schools STEINER WALDORF in particular, being observed that it was legitimate for the President UNADFI specialist in surplus in the fight against cults, to give voice to Gregory PERRA through his association, and Marie Drilhon did that take the evidence presented as such, Gregory PERRA, did not have to check the veracity.

 The defense of good faith may well be admitted, it should return the defendants of the lawsuit.

The civil action:

 The association FEDERATION OF STEINER WALDORF SCHOOLS IN FRANCE is admissible as a civil party, but it must fail all requests due to be acquitted.

FOR THESE REASONS:

 The court, acting publicly, first spring and by adversarial role towards of Grégoire PERRA judgment, Marie JOIN LAMBERT, Catherine CORDONNIER wife PICARD forewarned, and FEDERATION DES ECOLES STEINER-WALDORF EN FRANCE, civil party association (Article 424 the Code of Criminal Procedure)

Returns PERRA Gregory, Marie JOIN LAMBERT, wife Catherine SHOEMAKER PICARD for the prosecution,

Receives the association FEDERATION OF STEINER WALDORF SCHOOLS IN FRANCE in the civil party,

 The dismisses its claims due to be acquitted. "

What anthroposophy and Waldorf education?

 To understand the approach that was mine, must anthroposophy, which is involved in my testimony, which gave birth to the Waldorf schools, is firstly characterized.  It is not easy to do it synthetically, because it is a great work that touches so many areas, but I think we can say the following:

 In the early twentieth century, a young essayist who had some philosophical pretensions became a member and leader of the Theosophical Society.  There, he claimed to have clairvoyance, mediumship, which allowed him to make disclosures about all areas of life.  In addition, he also claimed to have developed a method that allows anyone to follow to become himself a clairvoyant.  This method combines meditation exercises occult (recorded in his book Initiation, Ed Triads), but also a philosophical epistemology and scientific (he claims to sit on the scientific work of Goethe in particular, recorded in several books with a theory of knowledge in Goethe Ed EAR).  This method, half-hidden mid-scientific (actually pseudo-scientific) would have allowed him to have revelations about the hidden reality of the world and receive direct guidance of the Gods.  Anthroposophy must therefore be regarded as a "new religion", but at the same time she claims to be a scientific approach, a "new science".

 It is from these "divine revelations," sent by the gods to Rudolf Steiner, but presented as the results of a scientific approach that was founded Waldorf education.  Therefore, the principles at work in these schools were immediately taken a sacred character.  It was unthinkable to change, to criticize, to question, since this method of teaching came directly from the "spiritual world" as the name of anthroposophic, through a man considered a guru.  But many of the principles of these schools with, in my opinion, a dysfunctional.  For example, the college management (without a director or recognized hierarchy) schools.  Or no ratings.  Promiscuity or teacher-pupil.  Or taste of the irrational that these schools teach.  And especially the fact that they were designed as a world apart, corresponding to the criteria of anthroposophic, including food, aesthetic, religious, relational, etc..  That is why it was absolutely necessary for teachers of these schools anthroposophic hide failures of their schools when they appeared: from being a revelation, they could only produce an exemplary pedagogy!  What they have done until now, with concealment techniques increasingly lapped.  In addition, the claim of the Waldorf schools be the best education possible and for this reason get subsidies from the government, including the Ministry of Education, has led also to conceal the true nature of their teaching practice, which was not entitled to educational standards in different countries where the teaching took root.

Actors

 To understand the events I will now describe, it is necessary to specify at least six institutional actors, we tend to confuse because of their close links

Perceval Chatou school, then headed by Daniele Burlotte (Director officially, but simply a member of the College of Management in practice), Franck Guardian, Joel and Benedict Acremant Journiac (among others);

Add the Rudolf Steiner School of canopy-le-Buisson, whose director (official) is Marie-Céline Gaillard;

Federation of Waldorf Schools, chaired by Isabelle Ablard-Dupin and Jacques Dallé and Marie-Céline Gaillard;

Institute of Teacher Training Rudolf Steiner Chatou, led by Raymond Burlotte and Marie-Céline Gaillard (yes, it's everywhere!)

the Anthroposophical Society in France, led by Antoine Dodrimont;

the Anthroposophical Society, based in Basel, Switzerland, led notably by Bodo von Plato.

My resignation from the school Perceval Chatou

 As I said in my article, I was first a student at the Waldorf School Canopies-le-Buisson, then the school Perceval.  I became officially anthroposophy at the age of 25 years by becoming a member of the Anthroposophical Society.  I taught for two years at the Steiner School Canopies-le-Buisson, 24 to 26 years.  At 30, in 2000, I also became a member of the Christian Community (a subsidiary of worship anthroposophy).  In 2002, I got the help of certified teacher of Philosophy in Education.  In 2003, I became a professor of philosophy at the school Perceval de Chatou, including performing a few hours, in addition to my normal service to Education.  Having a foot in both systems has placed me in a comparison situation.  So I started to make comments or suggestions that sought constructive, but in fact call into question the operation of the school Perceval.  Which in this environment was perceived as attacks.  For my part, though I do not question the remettais Waldorf: I thought I would make improvements.

 Moreover, another point of comparison was provided to me when I started my training at Rudolf Steiner Institute of Chatou.  I was able to found a huge gap between what we were supposed to do in terms of what should be the Waldorf and what was practiced in the school where I practiced.  I then tried to also make suggestions for improvements in this direction.  I thought then that we were not quite Waldorf, we do not truly followed the principles of Rudolf Steiner and our inefficiency was a betrayal of the spirit of this school.  I thought Rudolf Steiner never wanted us to stay frozen in rigid forms of teaching and operating in accordance with the exhortation to adapt to new circumstances he professes to start his book Human Nature, which is the basic book of anthroposophic educationalists.  This questioning of the operating modes of the school Perceval was increasingly resented by some faculty members of the College Board.

 My resignation took place on 22 March 2007.

My resignation of teacher training of Rudolf Steiner Institute of Chatou

 Following this resignation, I was received by Jacques Dallé, then President of the Federation, and Burlotte Raymond, Director of the Institute of Teacher Training Rudolf Steiner Chatou.  I their ais described in detail the actual situation of the school of Chatou Perceval and all that it produced.  I was allowed to continue teacher training if I wanted to.

 From March to June 2007, so I continued training weekends teacher training at Rudolf Steiner Institute of Chatou.  But I was increasingly aware that the method itself that we were taught was deficient.  I did sometimes openly share my trainers, some of which were in my opinion covertly.  In September 2007, I decided not to continue the course, although I was encouraged to do so, and I gave my resignation.  I wanted to do more work in Waldorf schools and thought a thorough renovation of this education was necessary.

My three internal reports on anthroposophic training and pedagogy Waldorf

 This is from July 2007 I came to work closely with Antoine Dodrimont, President of the Anthroposophical Society.

 Antoine Dodrimont had invited me to participate in anthroposophic Congress.  From August 2007, he wanted to intensify our collaboration, following my participation with him at a conference for young anthroposophic on "cosmic humor", where I gave a lecture entitled The philosophical root of Anthroposophy and the return of Wizards.

 In late 2007, I was received by the Executive Committee of the Anthroposophical Society, which directed me to consider the issue of training for young anthroposophy.  I wrote it for two successive reports sent to Antoine Dodrimont and Bodo von Plato.  At the same time, Daniéla Hucher entered the Director of the Anthroposophical Society Committee.  This person was the director of a Waldorf school in the South of France in Pau, but also a member of the Federation of Waldorf schools.  She ordered me another report, this time on the Steiner-Waldorf schools.  This report was presented to him January 28, 2008 (it is now on my blog in the article entitled My reports on anthroposophic training and the Steiner-Waldorf schools in 2008 ).

 It was during the writing of these reports I began to realize the shortcomings of anthroposophy and Waldorf schools.  I say "started" because I do not remettais still question the whole system, or the figure of Rudolf Steiner and his anthropospophie.  I remained an avid anthroposophic practicing anthroposophic his daily meditations and participating in worship of the School of Spiritual Science.  I think it was possible to improve and reduce its problematic character producing serious problems.  Antoine Dodrimont was openly in my direction and say together we would renovate the Anthroposophical Society.

 The first report, which was commanded was awarded to Antoine Dodrimont and Bodo von Plato in 2008.  He raised a few comments and proposed corrections, especially after a working session with Bodo von Plato in September 2008.  The second, which included these remarks was delivered on 15/12/2008.  However, the reaction Dodrimont Antoine, of wanting to hide from the eyes of all the findings of this report, has outraged me and that's when I realized that the problematic nature of this institution was taken by its leaders.

 November 22, 2008, I was invited by Antoine Dodrimont to participate in a large conference Biodynamics as a speaker, the next Michaela Glockler and Jean-Marie Pelt.  I gave a lecture and was hosting a workshop.

My articles on anthroposophy

 Along with these three reports commissioned by the Anthroposophical Society and the Federation of Waldorf Schools, I also was writing feature articles on anthroposophy, which appeared in the Journal of the Anthroposophical Society (The News).  This work was more philosophical.  In these articles also my conclusions arrived to question the problematic nature of the anthroposophic community and even the doctrine that underlies it.  In one of them, entitled From idealism to anthroposophy, which appeared in the News of the SAF March-April 2009, I denounced the fact that the anthroposophic institutions often led its members to become "slaves the spiritual. "  I leaned including a book whose reading was essential for me to know Difficult freedom of Emmanuel Levinas.  In this philosophical essay, Levinas considers indeed two types of relationship with the divine, or sacred, that could also be called the "numinous" or "spiritual world", if one is anthroposophy.  He distinguishes possession, which is a self-forgetfulness to be traversed by the sacred or divine (enthusiasm, in the etymological sense of "in" and "theos") and the relationship to the divine, embodied by Judaism .  I then realized that what I was watching in the anthroposophic community was more about possession than the relationship to the divine.  This immediately aroused the hostility of some important leaders of the movement.  Here again, this attitude allowed me to understand that freedom of thought and expression, which is clamoring to body and cries anthroposophic was purely fictitious and hypocritical.

My resignation from the Anthroposophical Society

 That's all this reflection, started a hand during the writing of my three reports, and secondly during my philosophical articles on anthroposophy, which m ' has led him to resign in June 2009.

 The resignation gave me the opportunity to further distance the one hand, and to live a normal life on the other, in which I épanouissais.  As we still have one foot in the anthroposophic community, it is impossible to understand its true nature.  Only the radical break open your eyes.  I continued and intellectually freer way of thinking about my work enclosing the character of anthroposophy and Waldorf schools.  This gave rise to a conference held at the headquarters of the Anthroposophical Society in April 2010, entitled The anthroposophic middle animalization a life of thought .  I clearly denounced the "vampiric" nature of anthroposophy and its derivative institutions, as well as mental as Steiner-Waldorf schools as I put out on their students confinement.

Writing my story appeared on the website of UNADFI

 In July 2010, I myself writing my memories of my schooling in Waldorf schools, as well as memories of my former professor of these institutions.  There were handwritten notes in a notebook.  I was reading through my best friend, who advised me to seek the lighting specialist sects to help me progress in my work ongoing reflection.  Also under his guidance, I made contact with the SOFI 94, an association fighting against sectarian Val de Marne, which I told my whole story.  After the interview, the President asked my permission to contact UNADFI, to inform them that we exchanged.  For several months, I no longer had any news and I end up thinking that the case would not followed, which did not bother me at all.  But in November 2010, I was contacted by the director of the BUBBLE review review UNADFI, who asked me to start writing a written testimony of my journey in anthroposophic and my experience as a teacher in schools Waldorf .  I willingly did, because I thought it would be drafting a way to clarify my thoughts by submitting with regard to a knowledgeable person.  At the same time, I fell ill and was bedridden for several months.  This gave me the opportunity to devote myself entirely to writing this long article, which was not possible while working.  I sent, by snatches, fragments of my work at the head of bubbles that read and asked me about what I had written, asking for clarification, by stimulating his questions and asking me my thoughts to examine specific aspects of the subject which I had not thought of.  She asked me to carefully detail all the facts mentioned in my testimony and provide the names of the people involved, which were not retained in the final version does not jeopardize their reputation.  She also asked me to clarify my sources and reference my words whenever possible, which anyway was my way of working.  It also helped me to take distance with the specific vocabulary of the anthroposophic community and Steiner-Waldorf schools, which is understandable only within the circles of this little world.

 At the same time, I was still in contact with several former students of these schools and a teacher Waldorf still active.  I had with each of them long interviews in which they entrusted me with different elements for me to conclude problematic nature of these schools.  They knew that I was writing this article.  Interviews with alumni in fact allowed me to perceive their major difficulties of psychological integration into normal society, their suffering to abandon the world apart they had known, and which have had artificially overestimated given a picture of 'themselves.  As these students was precisely at the beginning of their university studies, they faced these challenges in a very conscious and could testify clearly.  The teacher activity, meanwhile, made me part of the inner workings of the school, serious problems collegial management met there, highly problematic relational practices are observed and suffered, etc..  I wonder décelais with the same process that I had encountered in other Waldorf schools, or methods we talked about training me evoking other schools in France and Germany.  Thus I was able to realize that these problems are not specific to any particular school, as I had previously thought, but were inherent in the Waldorf system as a whole .  Moreover, the professor still active, who had his schooling in a Waldorf school children, told me parts of their education.  I saw in detail how certain mechanisms of mental confinement and subtle packaging were introduced at an early age, exactly the same as I had experienced myself as a student, or j ' had observed and practiced myself as a teacher.

 The publication of my story took place in July 2011.  In early September 2011, the professor in question back in touch with me to tell me that the college back to the school where he had worked for entitled "The article by Gregory Perra: the views of the Federation."  The same evening, he called me to make me a detailed report.  He was absolutely amazed that Marie-Céline Gaillard, President of the Federation of Waldorf Schools and Director of the School Canopies-le-Buisson, would at this meeting (according to him) came to the defense of my Article against all school teachers gathered, saying many things I had said were true.  He added however that the Federation probably would be forced to attack my written defamation to counter the effects that could occur in public.  He said he was told during the meeting that the strategy adopted by the Federation was to time to try to cover it up.  It was publicly described my writing "pamphlet".  However, at this meeting, Marie-Céline Gaillard reportedly said that internally, we should not call this witness pamphlet, but he had to use the term article because it was a job that reflected my thoughts, and that schools should take seriously what was written there to change their modes of operation.  (These remarks broadcast by a person in good faith, however questionable, since I do not ais myself heard).  This aroused, always according to the statements of the teacher, the indignation of the Waldorf teachers hardliners who were present at the meeting.  I was also procured an internal letter from the Federation of teachers Steiner-Waldorf schools in operation, signed by the Secretary General of the Federation, Henri Dahan, taking the position defended by Marie-Céline Gaillard position in front of colleagues.  He clearly said that "the writing of Gregory Perra asked important questions" that "I was not the first to do" and "we should think once mastered the consequences of his act."

The continuation of my work thinking

 Following the publication of my article, I continued my work of reflection on the Steiner-Waldorf schools and Anthroposophy, which resulted in the publication of numerous articles on my blog.  In the first category of articles, I tried to deepen the character enclosing anthroposophy as doctrine, the operation of the Anthroposophical Society and the anthroposophic community (for example in the article Who are the anthroposophic? or pressures of the anthroposophic community ).  In another category of articles, I have tried to better understand the process of transmission of anthroposophic insidious doctrine students to work in my in Waldorf schools (eg in a control and an almost undetectable indoctrination ).  Finally, in the last section particularly long and documented here based on secret writings of Rudolf Steiner who were in my possession, I could show how techniques of concealment and deception seem to have been held established by Rudolf Steiner himself since the creation of the first Waldorf school in Stuttgart in 1919 ( Extracts edifying Councils Rudolf Steiner in the first Waldorf school in Stuttgart ).

 The publication of my testimony has generated much interest in the world by a large number of people who know these schools and exposing their true nature.  Including Dan Dugan, President of MAPS, Roger Rawlings, Director of WALDORF-WATCH site, and Yves Casgrain, former director of INFO-sects in Canada, author of a forthcoming book on the Steiner-Waldorf schools.  These people have agreed to testify for my writing to the Tribunal.  My article has been translated and published in English, reflecting the esteem and interest in it by knowledgeable people.

Making contact with the institutions of the Republic

 Following the publication of my testimony, it was sent to MIVILUDES.  I received August 10, 2011 a letter of thanks from the Secretary General of MIVILUDES highlighting the "relevance and accuracy of my information" and "finesse of my analysis."

 I've received since then by various institutions of the Republic in order to answer questions about these schools.  I did it because I feel that this is my duty as a citizen.

And after?

 My final acquittal was delivered by the Criminal Chamber of the seventeenth Paris June 4, 2013.

 It seems to me important that society and its institutions now know that:

 mental confinement caused the students Waldorf schools I think is because of deep psychological suffering and undermines their dignity, their inner freedom, even if they do not necessarily realize because of the subtle nature of indoctrination suffered;

 that parents who put their children have the right to know the true nature of this teaching, which is initially hidden to those who are not anthroposophic or not disclosed in a manner sufficiently clear and explicit;

 the Steiner-Waldorf schools can not exist in my opinion and maintain their "education", as forwarded Rudolf Steiner, by relying on the transgressions of the law and knowingly failing to properly inform their authorities guardianship.

 I claim the right to express the point of view of mine on these schools, which is serious, thoughtful, documented and from a personal experience that allows me to understand things from the inside and witness .  I do not claim absolute truth, but honestly try to get close and have a legitimate right to share this investigative approach.

l’école Perceval de Chatou, dirigée à l’époque par Danièle Burlotte (directrice officiellement, mais simple membre du Collège de Direction dans les faits), Franck Gardian, Joël Acremant et Benoît Journiac (notamment) ;

la Libre école Rudolf Steiner de Verrière-le-Buisson, dont la directrice (officielle) est Marie-Céline Gaillard ;

la Fédération des écoles Steiner-Waldorf, présidée par Isabelle Ablard-Dupin, puis Jacques Dallé, puis Marie-Céline Gaillard ;

l’Institut de Formation Pédagogique Rudolf Steiner de Chatou, dirigé par Raymond Burlotte et Marie-Céline Gaillard (oui, elle est partout !) ;

la Société Anthroposophique en France, présidée par Antoine Dodrimont ;

l’enfermement mental provoqué sur les élèves des écoles Steiner-Waldorf est selon moi cause de souffrances psychologiques profondes et porte atteinte à leur dignité, à leur liberté intérieure, même s’ils ne s’en rendent pas nécessairement compte en raison du caractère subtil de l’endoctrinement subi ;

que les parents qui mettent leurs enfants ont le droit de savoir quelle est la véritable nature de cette pédagogie, qui est cachée au départ à tous ceux qui ne sont pas des anthroposophes, ou qui n’est pas divulguée de manière suffisamment claire et explicite ;

Yad Vashem: Preserving Holocaust History

The eyewitness generation to the Holocaust is aging and soon most of them will be gone. In many parts of the world today, voices are raised in denial of the murder of 6 million Jews and globally we continue to see instances of genocide. In 1953, the Israeli Government determined that the tragic legacy of the Holocaust and the lessons it inspired must be preserved and protected for future generations... and so Yad Vashem was founded.

Today with the help of EMC technology, this unique institution is not only preserving the documents, films and photographs that bear witness to the Holocaust, they are digitizing and placing the entire collection online in order to educate the world to the ever present dangers of man's inhumanity to man.
