I am ashamed to say that I was one of the dumb asses who actually bought Jim Humbles miracle mineral supplement .... and I didn't need to have the FDA tell me that it was bad, I found out the hard way.
Sick as a dog constant diarrhea for days and a burning sensation in my heart.
I felt so bad that there is no way on earth I could see this as doing anything beneficial for me.
I put the stuff in the cupboard and forgot about it and I would NEVER EVER touch it again.

Das Bundesamt für Gesundheit (BAG) rät vom Konsum des Produktes „Miracle Mineral Supplement“ („MMS“) dringend ab. Die im Internet von verschiedenen Händlern angebotenen Produkte können gemäss Meldungen aus dem In- und Ausland nach Einnahme zu gastrointestinalen Störungen (Erbrechen, Bauchkrämpfe, Durchfall) oder bei direktem Hautkontakt der unverdünnten Lösungen zu Verätzungen führen.
Seit 2008 wird "Miracle Mineral Supplement" von verschiedenen Anbietern aus dem In- und Ausland über das Internet angeboten. Je nach Anbieter soll „MMS“ zur Wasserdesinfektion verwendet werden oder es wird als „Nahrungsergänzungsmittel mit heilenden oder vorbeugenden Wirkungen gegen pathogene Keime“ propagiert. Vereinzelt wurde es sogar zur Krebs- oder AIDS-Therapie angeboten. Der Produktenamen ist irreführend, d.h. es werden beim Konsum von „MMS“ dem menschlichen Körper keine Mineralstoffe im ursprünglichen Sinn zugeführt.
"MMS" wird in der Regel in 2 Fläschchen angeboten: In einem ist eine ca. 30 %M Natriumhypochlorit -Lösung enthalten, im 2. Fläschchen entweder eine wässerige Lösung von Wein- oder Zitronensäure oder verdünnte Salzsäure als sogenannter "Aktivator". Von beiden Lösungen sollen einige Tropfen in etwas Wasser gegeben und so konsumiert werden. Beim Zusammengeben beider "MMS"-Lösungen entsteht elementares Chlor, ein sehr aggressives und toxisches Gas, das z.T. im Wasser gelöst bleibt. Die Angaben auf den Gebinden entsprechen gemäss erhaltenen Informationen der Lebensmittelvollzugsbehörden weder dem schweizerischen Lebensmittel- noch dem Chemikalienrecht.
Gesundheitsbehörden der Vereinigten Staaten (FDA), Kanada (Health Canada), von Grossbritannien (Food Standards Agency) und zuletzt von Frankreich (L’Agence française de sécurité sanitaire des produits de santé, Afssaps)haben bereits vor der Verwendung von „MMS“ gewarnt. Der Konsum von „MMS“ kann zu gastrointestinalen Störungen unterschiedlichen Schweregrades bis hin zu Hospitalisation wegen lebensbedrohlichen Zuständen führen. In der Schweiz hat das Schweizerische Toxikologische Informationszentrum (STIZ) ebenfalls diverse Meldungen über gesundheitliche Störungen nach der Einnahme von "MMS" erhalten.
Das BAG rät deshalb vom Konsum von "MMS" dringend ab. Allfällige noch bei Konsumentinnen und Konsumenten vorhandene Warenbestände sollten der Vernichtung (Alt-Chemikaliensammelstelle) zugeführt werden.

The issue
Health Canada is warning Canadians of the risks to health associated with use of the unauthorized drug product, Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS), which was distributed on the Internet by MMSsupplier.com to treat drinking water. According to the information provided on the company's website, Miracle Mineral Solution is a 28% solution of sodium chlorite. Health Canada advises that sodium chlorite is a chemical used mainly as a textile bleaching agent and disinfectant.
Health Canada advises that using this product as directed may cause serious health problems. Ingestion of water treated with Miracle Mineral Solution (28% sodium chlorite solution) has been associated with two adverse reactions in Canada, including one life threatening reaction.
Who is affected
Canadians who have purchased Miracle Mineral Solution on the Internet from MMSsupplier.com. This product has been promoted on MMSsupplier.com for use in infants and children, as well as adults.
What consumers should do
Consumers should stop using Miracle Mineral Solution (28% sodium chlorite solution) immediately.
Consumers should consult their doctor or pharmacist if they have used or are using Miracle Mineral Solution products distributed by MMSsupplier.com.
Consumers should report any adverse reaction to Health Canada (see below).
What Health Canada is doing
Health Canada has notified the owner of MMSsupplier.com that the sale of 28% sodium chlorite products as a therapeutic product is in contravention of the Food and Drugs Act. Ingesting these products poses a risk to human health. It is important to note that the Miracle Mineral Solution product label and the former MMSsupplier.com website claim that the product contains sodium chlorite. However, the Miracle Mineral Solution product is not authorized for sale as a drug in Canada.
Health Canada has requested MMSsupplier.com to remove these products from the Canadian market. The owner of MMSsupplier.com has indicated that they are no longer selling this product.
Background
Miracle Mineral Solution distributed by MMSsupplier.com claims to contain 28% sodium chlorite solution. Based on these claims, when taken as directed, Miracle Mineral Solution provides approximately 200 times more sodium chlorite than the tolerable daily intake of sodium chlorite in water established by Health Canada.
No drug products containing sodium chlorite have been approved by Health Canada for oral consumption by humans. Sodium chlorite is authorized in Canada for use as a germicide by veterinarians and as a hard surface disinfectant. Sodium chlorite is commonly used for bleaching textiles, pulp and paper, as well as in the generation of disinfectant for drinking water treatment.
Ingestion of water treated with Miracle Mineral Solution (28% sodium chlorite solution) has been associated with two adverse reactions in Canada, including one life threatening reaction. Health Canada advises that oral consumption of sodium chlorite may cause health problems such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea or more serious problems such as, poisoning, kidney failure and harm to red blood cells that reduces the ability of the blood to carry oxygen, among others.

Wie wirkt MMS?
Das Miracle Mineral Supplement (MMS)
Aus Natriumchlorit (NaClO2) entsteht durch Ansäu-
ern Chlordioxid (ClO2-Dioxychlor). Dies ist kein meta-
bolischer Giftstoff, der den Stoffwechsel von
Mikroorganismen stört und sie auf diese Weise abtö-
tet. Es gehört zu den oxidierenden Bioziden, welche
den Nährstofftransport durch die Zellwände unterbre-
chen. Chlordioxid ist ein gefährlicher Sprengstoff, es
ist so hochexplosiv, dass man es nicht transportieren
oder lagern kann, weil es jeden Behälter zerstört. Des-
halb wird es immer vor Ort hergestellt, also gerade
da, wo man es braucht. Zum Beispiel im Körper. Dort
führt es zu einer Oxidation. Chlordioxid ist ein unge-
mein hungriger Elektronenräuber, der allen pathoge-
nen Viren oder Giftstoffen sofort fünf Elektronen
entzieht. Einen solch heftigen Oxidationsprozeß über-
leben die unerwünschten Opfer nicht und zerfallen.
Auch das Chlordioxid-Molekül (ClO2) zerfällt durch die
chemische Reaktion: Der daraus freigesetzte Sauer-
stoff (O2) verbindet sich entweder mit Wasserstoff (H2)
zu Wasser (H2O) oder mit Kohlenstoff (C) zu Kohlen-
dioxid (CO2). Das nun ladungsneutrale Chlor-Ion ver-
bindet sich mit Natrium zu ganz gewöhnlichem
Speisesalz (NaCl).
So werden aus einem aggressiven Oxidationsmole-
kül in unserem Körper drei vollkommen harmlose
Grundsubstanzen gebildet, während schädliche Mi-
kroben diese chemische Umwandlung nicht überle-
ben. Der Grund dafür, dass das stark ätzende
Chlordioxid praktisch nur pathogenen Erregern den
Garaus macht, liegt darin, dass es nur Mikroben zer-
stört, deren pH-Wert unter 7 liegt, die also sauer und
damit schädlich sind. Denn Übersäuerung ist der
Nährboden für Krankheit.
Wenn Chlordioxid so explosiv ist wie beschrieben,
besteht dann nicht die Gefahr, dass es uns um die
Ohren fliegt? Das wäre fatal.! Deshalb wird dem in-
stabilen Chlordioxid (ClO2) eine Art molekulare
Zwangsjacke verpasst, die es stabilisiert. Der Name
seines Stabilisators ist Natrium, es macht Dioxychlor
zur eigentlichen Zauberformel, NaClO2 – Natrium-
chlorit. Und damit wissen wir auch, woher das bereits
erwähnte Natriumatom stammt, das sich mit dem
durch „Bakterien-Kill“ frei werdenden Chloratom zu
Natriumchlorid – Kochsalz – verbindet. Dieses stabile
Natriumchlorit ist nicht nur die altbekannte Ausgangs-
substanz von stabilisiertem Sauerstoff, sondern auch
von MMS.
Es ist das Verdienst von Jim Humble, mit MMS einen
Weg gefunden zu haben, wie die Wirksamkeit von Na-
triumchlorit gegenüber stabilisiertem Sauerstoff um
den Faktor 1000 gesteigert wird. Erst wenn das sehr
alkalische Natriumchlorit mit einer Säure in Kontakt
kommt, z. B. mit Essig oder Magensäure, entsteht an-
tibakterielles Chlordioxid. Auf diese Weise wird der ur-
sprünglich explosive Stoff (ClO2) in winzigen Mengen
im Körper direkt gebildet, wo er dann seine reinigende
Aufgabe ohne Nebenwirkungen voll entfalten kann.
Obwohl er Mikroben blitzschnell in wenigen Millise-
kunden abtötet, sind höhere Organismen wie Tiere
oder der Mensch sehr unempfindlich gegen Chlordi-
oxid.
Natriumchlorit-Lösung (eine Flüssigkeit, die ca. 25 –
29 % NaClO2 enthält) mischt man am besten mit einer
Säure (Essig, Zitronensäure, Salzsäure) lässt sie drei
Minuten stehen. Durch die Zugabe von Essig wird die
stark basische Lösung neutralisiert, das heißt, es bil-
det sich viel mehr Chlordioxid als bei bloßer Verwen-
dung von Wasser. Trotzdem läuft dieser Prozess sehr
kontrolliert ab. Man spricht deshalb von einer retar-
dierten, einer verzögerten Wirkung, die über Stunden
anhält.
Die roten Blutkörperchen sind normalerweise nicht
in der Lage, Sauerstoff (O2) und Chlordioxid (ClO2)

körperchen im Magen auf Chlordioxid, wird es unver-
züglich aufgenommen und in die Blutbahn überführt.
Kommt nun im Blut ein Malaria-Parasit mit dem Chlor-
dioxid-Molekül in Berührung, zerfallen beide in einer
chemischen Reaktion. Obwohl Chlordioxid hundert-
mal mehr Energie als reiner Sauerstoff enthält, greift
es trotzdem nur kranke Zellen oder schädliche Erre-

oxychlor auf natürliche Weise zu Salz und Sauerstoff
ab. Da man nur winzigste Mengen einnimmt – die
empfohlene Anfangsdosis ist ein bis zwei Tropfen
MMS-Lösung – kann der Körper das zusätzlich ent-
standene Salz leicht verstoffwechseln.
Betrachtet man das Blut unter einem Dunkelfeldmi-
kroskop, offenbart sich die belebende Wirkung von
MMS. In belastetem Blut zeichnen sich die Oberflä-
chen der roten Blutkörperchen schlecht ab. Oft sind
diese miteinander verklebt („Geldrollen“-Bildung), was
auf Übersäuerung und einen Mangel an Wasser und
Mineralstoffen hinweist. Eineinhalb Stunden nach der
Einnahme von 10 Tropfen MMS, die mit Säure akti-
viert wurden, zeigt dasselbe Blut eine deutliche Ver-
besserung: Die roten Blutkörperchen sind weniger
verklumpt, und – was noch wichtiger ist – die weißen
Blutzellen des Immunsystems bewegen sich zu den
noch verbliebenen Kristallisationsklumpen hin. Die
entsprechenden Filmaufnahmen belegen, dass die
weißen Blutkörperchen nach der Einnahme von MMS
zehnmal aktiver waren.
Moses Augustino verabreichte MMS gemäß Hum-
bles Anweisungen an viele Malaria-Kranken. Obwohl
es nicht bei allen wirkte, war der Erfolg groß. Gute Er-
fahrungen mit MMS macht auch eine Krebs-Klinik in
Mexiko. Dort wird es als alternatives Mittel erfolgreich
eingesetzt, um fiebrige Infektionen oder entzündete
degenerative Tumore zu behandeln. Selbst bei Pros-
tata-Krebs und anderen bösartigenTumoren hat MMS
zu „guten und hoffnungsvollen Ergebnissen“ geführt.
Ich selbst beobachte mehrere Patienten, die aus ei-
genem Antrieb MMS einnehmen über längere Zeit
ohne Nebenwirkungen. Bei einer Patientin mit Brust-
krebs haben sich die Knochenmetastasen deutlich zu-
rückgebildet und bei einem Patienten mit einem
Morbus Hodgkin Stadium IV sind die stark geschwol-
lenen Lymphknoten fast verschwunden. Der von mir
veranlasste PET-Scan bestätigten zu meinem Er-
staunen, das von mir beobachtete klinische Erschei-
nungsbild. Zahlreiche Patienten überwanden ihren
Hautkrebs, indem sie die betroffenen Stellen zweimal
täglich mit 15 Tropfen MMS bestrichen. Diese trock-
neten aus und lösten sich innerhalb einer Woche von
selbst ab.
Sein erstes Erfolgserlebnis mit Krebs hatte Jim Hum-
ble bei einem Bekannten. Dieser war an Bauchspei-
cheldrüsenkrebs erkrankt und in der Mayo-Klinik
operiert worden. Als man erneut Krebs feststellte und
deshalb bereits einen weiteren Operationstermin in
der Mayo-Klinik vereinbarte, wollte er sich lieber mit
Chlordioxid behandeln lassen. Humble gab ihm die
Lösung mit Essig als Aktivator. Innerhalb von zwei
Wochen nahmen seine Krebswerte ab. Der höchste
Wert des Ca 19-9 war 82 gewesen. Als er das nächste
Mal im Krankenhaus untersucht wurde, war der Wert
auf 71 gesunken. Einen Monat später war er bei 55,
zwei Monate darauf bei 29 und so weiter, bis der Wert
auf unter fünf gefallen war. Die Ärzte im Krankenhaus
wussten nicht, was da vor sich ging, aber als der Wert
immer weiter sank, sagten sie eine weitere OP ab.
Wenig später wurde der Mann als völlig geheilt von
allen weiteren Tests entbunden.
Zahnabszesse, Infekte der Rachenschleimhaut und
Paradontitis lassen sich oft innerhalb Stunden bes-
sern. Das ist nicht erstaunlich, wird Chlordioxid doch
schon seit Jahren in gewissen Mundpflegeprodukten
eingesetzt. Äußerlich angewendet, hilft MMS auch bei
Kopfschuppen, Insektenstichen, Sonnenbrand und
anderen Hautverbrennungen. Hierzu sprüht man die
MMS-Lösung stark verdünnt (1 Tropfen MMS in 50 ml
Wasser) auf die Haut auf.
Aber Achtung: Die Wirkung von MMS ist so stark,
dass sie bei geschwächten und sensiblen Menschen
unangenehme Nebeneffekte hervorrufen kann, wenn
anfangs eine zu hohe Dosis eingenommen wird. Dazu
gehören Durchfall, Bauchschmerzen, Übelkeit, Kopf-
schmerzen. Es ist auch denkbar, dass eine Herxhei-
mer Reaktion auftritt, wenn eine zu große Menge an
Erregern in kurzer Zeit zerfällt und dabei so viele Bak-
teriengifte freisetzt, dass der Körper sie nicht gleich-
zeitig ausschwemmen kann. Es kommt dann zu einer
kurzzeitigen Vergiftungserscheinung, die wir als Ja-
risch-Herxheimer-Reaktion oder kurz Herx bezeich-
nen. Mit einer geringen Anfangsdosierung und einer
sanften Steigerung von MMS sowie viel Wasserkon-
sum kann dies aber vermieden werden.
MMS-Anwendungstipps
Wenn man MMS einnehmen möchte, geschieht dies
in reiner Selbstverantwortung!
MMS ist nicht zur Behandlung von Krankheiten, son-
dern lediglich zur Desinfektion von Trinkwasser und
Lebensmittel zugelassen. Entscheidet man sich aber
dennoch, MMS einzunehmen, beginnt man grund-
sätzlich mit nur ein bis zwei Tropfen MMS, am besten
abends vor dem zu Bett gehen. Am besten nimmt
man MMS 5 – 10 Minuten vor den Mahlzeiten, oder ab
2 Stunden nach den Mahlzeiten ein. Nimmt man MMS

ein bei gefülltem Magen, reduziert sich die Wirkung
deutlich. Vitamin C und andere Antioxidantien (Vita-
min A, E, C, Zink, Selen, Opti-Immun, Juice Plus, etc.)
reduzieren die Wirkung dramatisch.
Man gibt MMS in ein sauberes Trinkglas, für jeden
Tropfen MMS gibt man die gleiche Menge „Activator“
(z.B. 10% Zitronensäure oder 9% Salzsäure) hinzu.
Danach schwenkt man das Glas kurz und lässt die
beiden Substanzen für 3 Minuten miteinander reagie-
ren. Die Reaktionszeit soll 3 Minuten sein, eventuell
Eieruhr stellen. Anschließend wird das Glas mit Was-
ser aufgefüllt und diese verdünnte Lösung zügig ge-
trunken. Kinder und empfindliche Personen können
wegen des „Chlorgeruchs“ statt Wasser auch Trau-
bensaft nehmen.
Tritt bei einem Tropfen keine starke Reaktionen
(Übelkeit, Durchfall) auf, dann kann man bereits am
zweiten Tag morgens und abends je 2 Tropfen (mit je
2 Tropfen Activator) einnehmen. Diese Dosis kann
dann für weitere 2 Tage beibehalten werden. Tritt
keine besondere Reaktion auf, kann man weiter stei-
gern bis auf drei mal 6 Tropfen MMS und 6 Tropfen
Aktivator. Diese Dosis von 2 – 3 mal täglich 6 Tropfen
(mit je 6 Tropfen Activator) kann man dann für 3 Wo-
chen einnehmen. Sollten Übelkeit, Durchfälle oder
eine starke Abneigung auftreten, sollte die Einnahme
für einen Tag ausgesetzt werden.
Spätestens nach 5 Wochen Einnahme sollten man
eine Pause von 2 – 3 Wochen einlegen, damit sich
der Körper vom oxidativen Stress erholen kann. In
dieser Zeit ist frisches Obst und eine verträgliche
Menge Rohkost angezeigt. Auch sind alle Vitamin-
präparate in dieser Phase wieder erlaubt.
Besonders bewährt im Anschluss an eine MMS-Kur
hat sich, zum Aufbau der Darmflora und zur Regene-
ration des Stoffwechsels, ein Produkt mit Prä- und
Probiotika, Multitalen.
Hat man Probleme im Mundbereich, kann man 2
Tropfen MMS mit 2 Tropfen Activator in einem
Schnapsglas oder Eierbecher geben und nach 3 Mi-
nuten (Sanduhr!) einen Esslöffel Wasser und eine
kleine Prise Salz hinzufügen. Nach dem normalen
Zähneputzen und dem Nachspülen taucht man die
Zahnbürste in diese Mischung ein und putzt sich die
Zähne noch einmal für ca. 1 Minute.
Bei Hautproblemen hat es sich bewährt, drei Trop-
fen MMS ohne Activator in eine Sprühflasche mit
Wasser (ca. 50 ml) zu geben und die betroffene Haut-
stelle mehrmals täglich einzusprühen.
Man darf nie vergessen, dass MMS ein Oxidans ist,
vergleichbar mit Ozon, und deshalb stets mit Bedacht
und Vorsicht eingesetzt werden sollte. Einen sehr
kranken und angeschlagenen Körper kann es stark
belasten und schwächen, wenn er mit einer solchen
Menge von freien Radikalen konfrontiert wird. Begin-
nen sollte man daher stets mit einer niedrigen Dosis.
Man sollte auch stets auf seinen Körper horchen.

Some Thoughts about the Klinik St. George

As a practising cancer specialist, I see many patients whose cancers are incurable, and the aim of any therapy -- whether chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or purely symptomatic care -- is to lessen their symptoms and thereby improve their quality of life. Once the options for active treatments have been exhausted, it is easy to understand why so many patients choose to pursue unorthodox therapies. The practitioners of these treatments usually promise patients far more than I can, and they offer hope to desperate people. My patients often justify seeking such treatment with, "I have nothing to lose." Regrettably, I am now well informed on how much they have to lose.
My wife's sister Robyn was 42 years old when she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Unfortunately, her disease was aggressive and responded only transiently or not at all to the various chemotherapeutic regimens her medical oncologist tried. Having reached the point where further chemotherapy was likely to offer her only toxicity with no realistic chance of benefit, she was informed by another patient of the Klinik St. Georg, in Bad Aibling, Germany, headed by a Dr Friedrich Douwes. Robyn had two children aged 9 and 7, and she was desperate to try anything that claimed to offer her the chance of seeing them grow up. In fact, she was not just offered a chance, but an 80% probability of cure. She went to Germany with her husband. My advice was neither sought nor offered. My wife and I had decided to say, if asked, that we supported whatever Robyn decided to do. Any opposition on our part would have been futile anyway, because she was absolutely committed to this course.
The Klinik St. Georg offers patients a smorgasbord of anti-cancer treatments, ranging from conventional chemotherapy (although at significantly lower dose than most cancer specialists would consider optimal) to the decidedly unconventional: Galvanic therapy, high-dose intravenous Vitamin C, hyperthermia, herbal therapy, "immune stimulants," reflexology, and more. Accompanied by her husband, Robyn spent three weeks in Germany receiving a combination of chemotherapy and hyperthermia before returning home. The uncomfortable side effects of the chemotherapy were more severe than she had experienced with any of her previous treatments; and she lost her hair. During the three weeks after her return from the Klinik, she developed new symptoms and her x-ray films revealed a large mass (metastatic tumor) in her right lung. Even to a layperson, logic would suggest that her recent treatment had been ineffective. Robyn also suspected that this was the case, and faxed the x-ray report to the Klinik St Georg. But despite several attempts, she was not able to speak to a doctor at the Klinik about the implications of the x-ray film. She was told by one of the Klinik's secretarial staff that if she heard nothing further she should keep her next appointment at the Klinik, due in a matter of days. It came as no surprise to me that she was not contacted. But, because she was desperate, she went back to Germany.
Robyn's health had deteriorated significantly when she arrived back at Klinik St Georg. She was too unwell for cancer treatment of any kind and was bedbound for the first week after her arrival. Her husband was told by Dr. Douwes to "start praying for a miracle," which probably reflected his opinion of the likelihood of any benefit resulting from his treatment. Yet Robyn was given more chemotherapy, this time consisting of a drug to which her cancer had already been proven resistant by her Australian oncologist. At no stage did Douwes suggest that she should return home to her children. He attributed her weakened condition to an infection acquired before she had returned to Germany, and he blamed her oncologist at home for not detecting and treating this properly. This undermining of her conventional oncologist had been a feature of Dr. Douwes' strategy and had involved outright criticism and condescension ("This treatment is accepted everywhere else in the world but Australia has been slow to accept it.") Actually, the cause of Robyn's decline was a condition called Superior Vena Caval Obstruction, in which the tumor in the right side of her chest had grown until it compressed the large vein returning blood to her heart from her head, arms, and upper body. This resulted in massive swelling of these parts of the body, including her brain, resulting in intermittent loss of consciousness. This is not a rare situation in the practice of cancer medicine and is a medical emergency. It is usually treated urgently with radiotherapy and steroid medication. However, Robyn's SVC obstruction went undiagnosed and untreated.
When her death seemed imminent, Robyn's children, parents, two sisters and brother flew from Australia to be by her side. They found the upper half of her body was grossly swollen. Douwes attributed this to "kidney impairment" that had supposedly resolved, but he was unable to explain why the swelling had persisted once the kidney impairment had recovered. The family also found Robyn in pain due to metastases in her spine, but she was given little or no pain relief by the inept nursing staff who did not even see it as their job to ensure a basic level of hygiene for their patient. It was left to the family to administer sponge baths. During this time, any contact with Douwes was by appointment only. During such appointments, the family found him arrogant and detached, and overtly aggressive if questioned about Robyn's treatment.
Robyn died on November 12, 2001. Dr. Douwes did not speak to her family just before or at any time after her death. Robyn's father commented that the most sympathetic person he encountered in the Klinik was the undertaker called after his daughter had died.
So, what did Robyn have to lose?
Time with her family and friends. Approximately 7 of the last 10 weeks of her life were spent in a foreign country away from those she loved.
Money. The cost of Robyn's treatment was exorbitant, exceeding 70,000 Australian dollars, most of it paid in advance. This money could have been better spent on her children's upbringing, which, ironically, was her chief concern.
Quality of life. Robyn was made to endure chemotherapy side effects when there was no significant chance that the treatment would help her; and she had to suffer from the symptoms of a well-known complication of cancer because the Klinik doctor did not make the diagnosis.
Faith in her original oncologist. Not surprisingly, the undermining of her Australian oncologist's care caused Robyn and her husband a degree of anguish. Had she not died in Germany, the relationship with her original doctor might have been destroyed just when she needed it most.
The dignity of proper terminal care. Adequate pain relief and proper nursing care are every patient's right.
Life. Most of all, Robyn lost what she most sought: to live. It is very likely that appropriate treatment of the superior vena caval obstruction would have prolonged her life significantly. Robyn died from a complication of her cancer rather than the cancer itself. It is inconceivable that this diagnosis would have been missed by her original oncologist or any other competent physician. On the day of her death she was given drugs to lower her blood pressure on the erroneous premise that her rapid heart rate was due to heart failure, despite the fact that she was profoundly shocked. These medications almost certainly hastened her death.
Robyn made her own decision to travel to Klinik St Georg, as she had every right to do. The tragedy is that her decision was based on misinformation and impossibly optimistic claims of treatment outcome. It is most unfortunate that people claiming to possess the cure for cancer are permitted to prey on desperate individuals like Robyn, whose only wish was to be there for her children. I think she lost a lot.

This story is not about treatment failure, but more about failure to treat appropriately and honestly, as seen by the family of a patient at Klinik St. Georg:
"Dear Ann, Thank you for responding to my e-mail, and for caring enough to want to hear negative feedback as well as positive. My sister-in-law Robyn had breast cancer with secondaries in her spine and lungs. Her cancer had responded only transiently to a number of different chemotherapy drugs and her oncologist here in Australia had advised against further chemotherapy because the chance of it helping was so low.
Robyn was desperate for her children's sake to try anything that might extend her life and heard about the Klinik St Georg from another patient. She had 2 trips to Bad Aibling but never returned the second time. She spent 7 of the last 10 weeks of her life in a foreign country away from family and friends including her 8 year old son and 10 year daughter.
Friedrich Douwes promised Robyn an 80% chance of cure with his treatments, which cost her an exorbitant amount of money, paid in advance. During the 3 weeks she spent at home after her first visit to his clinic, she became more unwell and it was fairly obvious to my wife and I that his therapy had not worked either.
We were surprised that she decided to go back to Germany the second time but I suppose it is understandable knowing that she viewed Douwes and his clinic as her only hope. He explained away her deterioration as an infection and claimed that she had not received enough of his treatment to say whether it was going to work or not.
Further treatment was put off by first one day, then two, then two more, until 3 weeks had elapsed with nothing happening, because of Robyn's worsening health. Douwes told her husband to "start praying for a miracle" but did not recommend they come home to spend time with their children before she became too unwell to travel.
Having already said a miracle was needed, Douwes finally gave Robyn some chemotherapy. By his own implication, it seems to me that all he was doing was offering her toxicity with no realistic chance of benefit. One of the chemotherapy drugs had already proved completely ineffective in Australia, so why give it again?
Robyn's condition deteriorated further, so her family flew to Germany in the hope of seeing her before she died. Despite their virtually constant availability the only time they spoke to Douwes was after making an appointment, during which he became aggressive when asked about her care. He refrained from making any eye contact with any family member and was aloof and distant.
Robyn was frequently denied pain relief for the secondaries in her spine, which was understandably also a source of distress to her family.
Finally Robyn's husband made the decision to try to repatriate her using a medical evacuation company. The doctors from this company felt that they could not rely on the information given to them about Robyn's condition by Douwes, and because they needed an assessment they could trust, they requested another opinion from a German doctor experienced in such evacuations.
Despite the fact that this opinion was purely to allow Robyn a chance to die at home, Douwes refused to allow an outside doctor in his hospital, and she was by now too sick to move to another hospital. At this stage her father commented that he felt as though Douwes had "washed his hands of her". Douwes did not speak to the family (including Robyn's husband, who had always supported her going to Germany) in the hours before she died or at all after she died.
Her father felt the most helpful person the family met at Klinik St Georg was the undertaker called after his daughter died. It is beyond me how L.M. can describe this arrogant, avaricious man as "intuitive" and "sensitive". He demonstrated a complete lack of empathy and compassion by not advising Robyn to come home when she could, even though he thought she needed "a miracle".
In case you are wondering, Robyn and her husband would have been on the next flight home if he had been honest and suggested this, as she missed her children terribly. The fact that he did not suggests total indifference to her situation at the very least, and one does not have to think for long to find reasons for Douwes wanting Robyn to stay in his expensive clinic.
So she died in a foreign country with a small number of relatives with her, and for that privilege her husband has paid Douwes tens of thousands of dollars that might have made the future of her children more secure.
I hope you post this account on your website to give a balanced assessment of the Klinik St Georg. I also hope that no other patient or family goes through the nightmare that Robyn and her family did.
