Amina is illigally retained in Tunisian prison

Activist of FEMEN Tunisia Amina who was arrested 3 days ago for antiislamist action is still illegally retained in Tunisian prison. The women's movement FEMEN was informed about that  by one of Tunisian supporters. The source also reported that Amina will be charged in trial with accusation of vandalism.

Tunisian FEMEN activist, Amina tagged the word "FEMEN" on one of islamist savred memorial in salafist city Kairouan during illegal  Congress of the radical organisation Ansar Al-sharia.  After the protest act  Amina  was detained by police. First the police explained that Amina was arrested for her safety, and after contact with Amina was lost and new information about het location did not appear until now.

Information about Amina's destiny is also severely limited by the Tunisian authorities, as well as her freedom. As we found out from the French magazine Marianne Amina is currently lies in a prison fortress of Kairouan, which is holy city for the Islamists. Because of FEMEN's action the Supreme Court of Kairouan held, where the prosecutor of Kairouan has put forward Amina Tyler by criminal charges of vandalism. The outcome of the trial was the decision to keep Amina in jail pending investigation. By the local law Amina is threatened to spend 2 years in prison. In this case, more than a year she can spend behind bars being accused while investigations are conducted.

Vandalism According to the Tunisian justice consists in the fact that Amina has written the word "FEMEN" on the wall of the Kairouanian temple complex, protesting against the illegal ,meeting of the terrorist group "Ansar al-Sharia."

FEMEN sure that the protest of Amina is not vandalism, but the reaction of the Tunisian authorities is a gross political repression in response to her antiislamist feminist actions against shariatization of Maghreb. The women's movement FEMEN demands immediate release of activist FEMEN Tunisia Amina Tyler!

FEMEN calls for the mobilization of all democratically-minded citizens in the name of freedom of Amina, in the name of freedom of all women in the East!
